In the occasion of his debut at the Wiener Musikverein, on March 30th (8 pm), world famous harmonica virtuoso Gianluca Littera will take the audience on a trip through South America together with the Tonkünstler under the baton of Andrés Orozco-Estrada. A truly rare solo performance in Austria with a rather exotic instrument. However, even the famous Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos dedicated a concerto to it. The soloist will present the world premiere of his companion on stage, latin jazz pianist and composer Heitor Infanzon’s El Sazon de la Abuela, as the two musicians reveal: a starting point of a Concerto for harmonica and orchestra, which will be delivered and premiered soon.

2012 is an exeptional season for this unique and world renown italian musician: soon, in March, will follow a tour through Mexico’s most important venues (among others, with Ivan Lins) and a second world premiere in April, that of Graham Whettam Concert for harmonica and orchestra n.2, together with Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano, at Bolzano’s Auditorium.

March also reserves to Littera an exceptional treatment on the media side: Sky Classica Italy will broadcast, for a total of 12 spins, two productions concerning his life and work - the 60’ “Notevoli” series documentary, and the video of his Villa-Lobos Concerto para harmonica e orchestra, recorded in 2007 in Mexico’s OFUNAM Auditorium, together will OFUNAM, under the baton of Enrique Diemecke.
